Storytelling using Augmented Reality

Mrs Kitto's writing group had been exploring an iPad app called Quiver. The app makes your pictures come to life.
After spending some time exploring it we used our pictures as inspiration for writing.

Gummy Bear Science

Today we learnt how to carefully prepare a science experiment.
To create a 'fair test' we needed to change only one thing and to keep everything else the same. We put gummy bears into four different types of liquids; vinegar, water, salt water and baking soda mixed into water. We carefully measured the different liquids to make sure we had the same amount in each cup. Next we put gummy bears into the different liquids and made predictions as to what we thought might happen.

By the end of the day changes had already begun ...

Colourful Science

The focus of our science experiment today was making predictions.
First we put three drops of food colouring into a bowl of milk and then added a drop of dishwashing liquid into the middle of the bowl.
Before we added dishwashing liquid we shared our ideas about what we thought might happen.
