Random Acts of Kindness

Christmas is a time to think of others. It is a time for giving as well as receiving.
Today we brainstormed all the ways we could help others and spread some Christmas kindness.   We turned these ideas into Christmas messages and popped them into an advent calendar.
Our 'Christmas Kindness Calendars' are going to be hung up at home and as we count down to Christmas we will spread a little bit of kindness.

  1. What a wonderful way to create an Advent calendar. What sort of thing did you write on your messages? It is amazing for us in England to see that in December in New Zealand the sun is shining! It is dark here until about 7.30 in the morning and dark again at about 4.00pm. Most of the time it is cold, grey and often drizzly, but we haven't had any snow!
We have been ;earning about different Continents and Seas last week and we would love to learn about where you live and go to school. Could we send you some questions?
    Our blog address is www.ffks1.primaryblogger.co.uk
We would love to answer any of your questions and we'll put pictures and information on our blog so you can see what it is like in Farsley, nr Leeds, in Yorkshire, England.
Hope to be in touch soon. Happy December to you all,
Best wishes from Mrs Fisher and Year 2 Farsley Farfield Primary School.

  2. We have just read on the internet about how you celebrate Christmas and have discovered that you get nearly 2 months off school! We hope you are not on holiday yet and will be able to help us find out some more facts about New Zealand.
    Bye for now 2F :-)

  3. We are loving all the help Andrew has been this week carrying out his Christmas Acts of Kindness...doing the dishes, playing nicely with his sister(!!), helping tidy in the house, pulling weeds in the garden, making a thank you card for someone who helped him throgh the year, doing 3 nice things for someone (his sister) and today making a Christmas decoration - fab idea Rm 6!!

  4. This is such a fantastic idea! I have a 5, 4 and 1 year old and have been struggling with a way to get my own children to truly understand and realise that giving a gift is more often more rewarding than getting one. I particularly love the concept you are reinforcing here that gifts come in all different size & shapes and don't always require money to be spent. Lovely idea and one I will 'pinch' and share with the world, this is the kind of stuff that should go viral! Koia kei a koutou, meri kirihimete!
