Virtual Great Walker Competiton

This term we are participating in the Virtual Great Walker Competition run by the Department of Conservation. The Junior school will be learning about conservation by virtually visiting one of the Great Walks - The Routeburn Track. Over the course of the term we will be walking the same distance as the Routeburn track - 32 km.  We will be walking around our area discovering what is in our own back yard.
Yesterday we walked the first kilometre of our 'Virtual Great Walk'. We walked along the river track to the Clyde bridge.
Today we completed the second kilometre jogging around a course that was set up in our school grounds.

Can you see us waving from the bridge?

We are tracking our progress on a big chart.
