Visiting the Museum and the War Memorial

On Wednesday we visited the Clyde Museum and the war memorial to learn more about the First World War and the local men who fought for their country.
A huge thank you to Carol Haig, who shared her vast knowledge of local history with us.

  1. That looks like a fun trip. What did you learn at the museum?

    1. Tavish learnt that they used binoculars to look at the enemy when they were far away.
Briar learnt that many of the men had little bibles with them.
Avie learnt that they only ate stew, hard biscuits and dry meat.
Blake saw a gas mask and it was scary. Briar said they wore them because there were bad fumes. Malakai said they used a new weapon called poisonous gas.
Meisha thinks she saw a note that said there were 10 Clyde people who came back from the war and 10 Alex people .....we think that maybe there were a few more.
