Learning to code

Today we began exploring positional language in mathematics. We are learning how to give and follow instructions for movement that involve distance, directions and half and quarter turns.
Our maths session flowed into "i-explore" time, where we discovered that our maths learning could help us with simple coding. We used Scratch Junior to create a simple code that would move a character around the outside of our page, turing at each corner. We had to work together to problem solve. It was trickier than it looked.
