Trip Back In Time - 1863

This weekend is Clyde School's 150 year Jubilee.  Today the whole school dressed up in clothes that would have been worn in 1863. The senior school had a school day led by Miss Williams, who ran our "olden days" school day last month.
Our school photos were taken today in our olden day clothes, which was a special way to mark the 150 year jubilee celebrations.
Tomorrow there is a special assembly, starting at 2pm, for everyone who has attended our school. The weekend is going to be full of fun and and a lot of reminiscing for those who have attended Clyde School over the years.

What do you think to Mr White's olden day costume?  We loved his "bat-winged" cape.  Perhaps he could wear it for halloween next week!

Bubble Writing

During writing time we watched a short film by Gabby Zapata, called 'Bubbles'.
We decided to retell the story in our own words.  We had to think carefully about sequencing the events correctly.
You might like to watch the video clip before reading our e-book of bubble stories.

Movement and Position

During Maths this week we have been looking at position words. We have been following and giving instructions that use words like up, down, over, under, through, between, beside and many more.  We hid objects around the classroom and tried to give our buddy instructions that helped them to move around the classroom and find the objects.  We learnt that you need to give really clear instructions so that your buddy is able to find the object that you have hidden.
We also had lots of fun on the adventure playground creating obstacle courses for our buddies to try.  We had to listen carefully to all of the instructions and try to remember where to go.

100 Day Celebrations

100 Day Celebrations

On the last day of Term 2 we celebrated 100 days at school.  We had a PJ day and began our celebrations with a shared breakfast of pancakes, fruit, and toast.  We did lots of counting to 100 in 1's 2's and 10's.

We thought about what we would like to achieve by the time we are 100 years old and wrote down some of our ideas.  We also created ripped paper collages of what we might look like when we are 100 years old. Click on the pictures below to view our artwork and read our 100 ideas.
