Polar Bear - Descriptive Writing


The enormous polar bear walks along the ice. The polar bear falls in the freezing water. He struggles to get out. He finally gets out.             By Liam

The wet polar bear slides on the winter ice. Then whoops-a-daisy the polar bear falls into the water and then he tries to survive and he made it out.      By Heidi

The massive, heavy polar bear walks along the ice. It slips along the ice and the polar bears front legs fall into the cold icy water.     by Niamh

Descriptive Writing

The bear is waiting for the salmon. The salmon blasts out of the water like a rocket. The salmon is like an arrow.   By Taine (Yr 2)

Descriptive Writing

The eagle looks like an aeroplane as he swoops down to the water. His claws open as he catches a salmon. He makes big splashes.  by Megan

Halloween Writing

After shared writing today we used some of the halloween pictures as inspiration for our own writing.  Niamh, Dual, Taraleigh and Eli's writing has been published in the book below, along with the picture that inspired their writing.

Today we learnt about the origins of halloween.  Using a website called 'Storybird' we wrote a story together that was inspired by some cool halloween pictures.

Spring is awesome.  Bees can surface.  They collect nectar from the flowers.  I can smell fresh grass.  I can can smell blossom on the tree.  Bulbs come to the surface.  Spring is the best.  Baby lambs, birds tweet, spring is wonderful.

School in 1863

In 1863 school was different to today.  We have written about some of the things we learnt on our 'Old School Day'.
In 1863 school was different.  When the bell rang we had to line up and we had to walk around the netball court back to our teacher.

We played hopscotch.  At night the potty was cold.  A potty is the toilet.   By Megan
School in 1863 was different.  They had the cane.  The used it for waking people on the bottom.  The toilet was different.  By Eli
Yesterday we made our classroom like it was 1863.  I wore bare feet.  Miss Williams was really strict because she had a cane. In the 1863 the rode on horse back to school.   By Cody

During writing time we imagined what it might be like to turn into someone or something else.  Next, we created pictures using Kidpix, google images, and our interactive whiteboard to combine the images.  Lastly we wrote stories to accompany our pictures.  We hope you enjoy listening to our stories.
